Players Code of Conduct – 2017 

 All playing members of Cleethorpes Cricket Club will:


a) Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person within the context of cricket


b) Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief


c) Not condone, or allow to go unchallenged, any form of discrimination if witnessed


d) Display high standards of behaviour


e) Promote the positive aspects of Cricket, e.g. Fair Play


f) Encourage all participants to learn the laws and rules of play within them, respecting the decision of match officials


g) Actively discourage unfair play, rule violations and arguing with match officials


h) Recognise good performance not just match results


i) Place the well-being and safety of young people above the development of performance


j) Ensure that activities are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of the individual


k) Respect young people’s opinions when making decisions about their participation in cricket


l) Not smoke, drink or use banned substances whilst actively working with young people in the club


m) Not provide young people with alcohol when they are under the care of the club


n) Follow ECB guidelines sat out in the “ Safe Hands – Cricket Policy for Safeguarding Children “ and any other relevant guidelines issued


o) Report any concerns in relation to a young person, following reporting procedures as laid down by the ECB


p) Follow the points as laid down in the following documents – Child Protection Policy, Drug Misuse Policy, Social Media Usage Policy and Junior Transport Policy


q) Every player is to show a commitment to improve, and/or help others to improve their game, and as such is expected to attend nets on a weekly basis. If you are unable to attend your captain, or another member of the selection committee, must be informed why.


r) Every player is to turn up at the appointed time for games, or for travel to away games


s) Every player is to make their availability for the weekend known prior to Selection Committee meetings


t) Every player is expected to positively contribute to the running of the club, this could take place in many forms


u) Every player is expected to behave in a positive manner, on and off the field, and in a way which will not be counter productive to its policies or objectives



Failure to comply with the above and the club reserve the right to following Disciplinary Policy as necessary.
